Following our participation in the Explorathon Festival at the University of Glasgow in 2024, we were invited to record four performances of Salon arrangements. These include Émile Tavan’s Fantaisie sur La Norma we already performed last year, as well as a 12 minute version of Mozart’s Magic Flute, and two short interludes: Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavalleria rusticana and Tchaikovsky’s Natha-Valse.
The recording session took place on 25 March 2025 in the Concert Hall of the University of Glasgow:

The four full recordings are now available on YouTube, courtesy of the CREATe research centre. They are part of a research project on copyright and music publishing practices in the late 19th and early 20th century: Join us in the Salon
W. A. Mozart: Magic Flute (1791) arr. Fr. Eberle for Salonorchester (1920)
Pietro Mascagni: Intermezzo from Cavalleria rusticana (1890) arr. G. Becce for Salonorchester (1928)
Vincenzo Bellini: Norma (1831) arr. E. Tavan for Casinos & Sociétés Symphoniques (c1880)
For an exceptional solo, listen to Norma’s Casta Diva aria (at 2:35) in the version of our Gabriel Doucet. We prefer it to Callas!
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Natha-Valse (1878) arr. L. Weninger for Salonorchester (1919)
